Korea is using forest fires as the most effective way to extinguish them with helicopters. And in order to most efficiently extinguish forest fires in helicopters, there must be a place to receive water closest to the area where forest fires have occurred.

However, in the season when forest fires frequently occur and spread to large fires, it is difficult to receive supply from nearby reservoirs due to drought, and rivers and reservoirs often freeze in winter. so helicopters often moved far away and were supplied with water. In this case, the efficiency of the helicopter was poor, requiring more helicopters.

In addition, as the number of simultaneous wildfires increased during the forest fire season, it was difficult to operate helicopters used to extinguish forest fires with a limited number of helicopters.

To overcome this, the KFS and we came to think of a portable tank, and in cooperation with the SEI industry, a Korean-style Pumpkin tank was created through several tests.

However, despite these efforts, many people did not believe that such a system had limitations. Their biggest argument was because they had never actually used it before and the fear of something new.

In February 2018, a large forest fire broke out in Samcheok. The KFS and we deployed five Pumpkin tanks. And this system was shown.

The helicopters took 2minutes and 5 minutes to travel back and forth, and the time was reduced by at least 5 minutes to 10 minutes from the previous time. The effect was a great success. Many newspapers and broadcasts interviewed.

Currently, Pumpkin tanks are located in about 60 Korean local governments and 10 important facilities. In addition, we signed a contract with the KFS to provide a pumpkin tank service in the event of an important or dangerous facility. Overcoming the fear of failure and new things is what we have to do now.
